Since 1985 Castle Hill United Reformed Church has been joined in twinship with the Protestantische Johannes-Kirche (St John’s Church) in Mussbach, Germany. This grew out of a project of the Eastern Synod of the URC to forge links with the churches in the Palatinate (a region in South-West Germany). Over the years we have had regular opportunities to visit Mussbach and to welcome the folk from Mussbach to Castle Hill.
The Mussbach Group work together to make arrangements for the annual visit programme and help the churches keep in touch.
One the fourth Sunday morning of each month during our worship we say the Lord’s Prayer in German as we hold our Mussbach friends in heart and mind.
Twinship Prayer
Our Twinship is so special because God
has brought us all together in this one place.
Miles cannot divide us, love it is unites us,
Father, keep us always near to you.
Thankyou Jesus, thankyou Lord,
For giving us this time to glorify Your name,
One and all.
May we grow in strength each year,
Our partnership renewed,
True friends at one with You.
